About the Edina Volleyball Association
EVBA is an Edina youth sports association formed to allow girls an opportunity to play and practice volleyball in a competitive environment. EVBA is equivalent to traveling volleyball, and is called “club” or “JO” volleyball. EVBA is for playing USA Junior Olympic Volleyball and hosts a variety of teams, including 12’s, 13's, 14's, 15's, 16’s and 17's.
We plan to field at least two teams for each age division with teams assigned by ability. These teams will be designed for girls in grades 6-11. The numbers of players will have to be limited to 10-12 players per team.
Our coaching staff will emphasize the fundamental skills of serving, passing, hitting, blocking, and digging, as well as the court movements that are necessary to be successful in playing volleyball. Depending upon age and ability, we will train players for specialized positions such as setter, Libero, and the different hitting and defensive positions. In addition, we will train every player in team defensive and offensive systems.
We look forward to working with athletic, committed, eager to learn, and motivated players wanting to have fun playing volleyball and to play competitively, while still having a strong desire to improve their volleyball skills and knowledge of the game.
