Currently, we are only accepting tryout registrations from players that:
1. Live in the Edina school district boundary or
2. Attend a school inside the Edina school district boundary (for example, live in MPLS but attend OLG can register)
If you do not meet the criteria above, you can be added to a wait list during the registration process and we will make a final determination prior to tryouts if we have room for additional players to tryout.
Season Down payment
A $300 check is due the day of tryouts ($200 for 4th graders). Players without a check will not be allowed to tryout unless they have communicated a plan with the club director. The checks will be deposited and are non-refundable 24 hours after team selections are posted online.
Once teams are posted, each parent will receive a link to register online and pay their remaining team balance through our SportsEngine website.
If you have any questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org
Scholarships are available, see the tab under EVBA for Financial Aid.
What to expect
All COVID guidelines will be strictly enforced. Specific details will be emailed out prior to the tryout; they include mask wearing, social distancing and sanitizing.
Check in - turn in down payment check, look at apparel, sized for jersey, receive a tryout number.
Go to assigned court and warm up.
EVBA coaches start evaluation. Each player will be evaluated by several coaches. Players will run through a variety of skill drills and work up to playing/game like drills.
Coaches are looking for skill level, movement on the court, aggressiveness, communication, and teamwork.
Our goal is to find a spot for all players at EVBA, but there is a possibility we will have to make cuts at the higher grades (7th and up), if we don't have enough players to form additional teams, coaches and/or gym space.
Expected Season Commitment
We expect that players and parents make a commitment to EVBA and join the club with the intention of attending most practices and tournaments. We want to encourage players to participate in a variety of activities and understand that missing EVBA for another important event can happen occasionally, but we ask that players make EVBA a priority often.
